About

Humans are a needy bunch. From the instant we come out of the womb, we’re clamoring for something, and we don’t stop trying to get what we want until we’re six feet under. In other words, life is one big pitch.

In almost every situation throughout our lives, we’re pitching to get what we want – love, sex, food, fame, attention, jobs, etc. As babies we cried when we were hungry. As toddlers we threw a temper tantrum to get our way. As teenagers we blasted music loud in our room to show defiance. On first dates, we dressed nice and put on fancy perfume to be more attractive and woo our dates. In business negotiations, we sat at the head of the table to show everyone we were in charge.

We learn early on through repetition that if we take certain actions, adopt specific behaviors and use particular language we can achieve a positive outcome in nearly every situation. So, it’s obvious that the better pitch we have, the more persuasive we’ll be and the more success we’ll have at getting what we want. That means having good pitch skills is something that can benefit everyone.

But the truth is some of us are just better at it than others. So we need to learn both the art and science of pitching, persuasion and presentation from those master pitchmen. Then we can discover for ourselves the possibilities of what we can achieve from pitching better in our own lives.

This book will teach people how to get what they want by mastering proven skills and techniques that are applicable to every situation.

Billy Mays, the bearded, the blue-shirted, late-night television product pitchman made an entire career out of pitching products for companies. Mays understood how to get into the head of a customer and entice them into handing over their hard earned cash for his wares. This book will look at master salesmen like Mays. We will interview them and examine their tactics to show how they do it with such success.

There’s a guy who calls himself “The Pick-Up Artist.” He’s famous for teaching other men how to pick up women. He didn’t just wake up one day and know how to talk to girls. He learned it by repeatedly using actions and behaviors that helped him achieve his desired goal – “to pick up chicks.” This book will get inside the mind of people like “The Pick-Up Artist” to understand the specific tactics used to gain desirable results.
